CONVERSATIONS ABOUT POWER
Conversations About Power is an anti-sexual violence, arts-based 501(c)3 nonprofit that aims to empower survivors of sexual abuse. We are a proud DreamMaker Project for the Ink People Center for the Arts that uses visual expression and community dialogue to co-construct solutions to the problem of sexual violence. The goal of our workshops and exhibitions are to leave people feeling more unified, informed, understood and directed.
It is our belief that the tactic of providing community opportunities for spoken, written and visual expression in the response to trauma is both an effective and essential form of civic engagement.
Conversations About Power benefits from partial backing by the National Endowment for the Arts and the California Arts Council. We are committed to donating 20% of all painting sales to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network), the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization.

“We aim to make people more aware of the multi-faceted impact that trauma has on people’s lives while brainstorming ways that we can make meaningful change as a society. This is our vision.”
